Stops on the tour

  1. Start at the harbor

In front of the Hard Rock Cafe at the Landungsbrücken, the Elbe behind you. From here you head up to the Kiez.

  2. Herbertstraße

The screened-off street has been part of the red light district for more than a hundred years. Only men may enter; at the request of the women working there, female guests walk around it with the guide.

  3. Davidwache

Probably the best-known police station in Germany, the setting of countless films, TV series and Kiez stories.

  4. How the Kiez became the Kiez

The Reeperbahn got its name from the rope makers (Reepschläger) who twisted long ropes for sailing ships here in the 17th century. Later St. Pauli became the district of sailors, dock workers and entertainment venues and in the early 1960s the stage of the young Beatles.

  5. Finale in the heart of the Kiez

Past well-known addresses and hidden corners, the tour ends where the night in St. Pauli is only just beginning.

What to expect
  • The Reeperbahn from every side: history, nightlife, theater, music and the red light scene.

When does the Reeperbahn tour take place?

In the evening. You will see the start times in the booking calendar once you pick a date. Please be at the meeting point about 15 minutes beforehand.

Is the tour available in English?

The public tour is in German. For groups we arrange private tours in other languages, just send us a request.

How big is the group?

Usually 20 to 25 people, small enough for everyone to hear the guide well and ask questions.

What is the minimum age?

18. In exceptional cases 16- and 17-year-olds may take part, but only together with a parent or guardian.

Can I just turn up?

No, please book in advance. Only then do we know how many guests are coming, and everyone can follow the guide well.

Can I take photos during the tour?

Yes, St. Pauli has plenty of motifs. Photos of sex workers and the people around them are off-limits. That can quickly cause trouble. Photograph with respect and you will get along fine on the Kiez.

Absolutely, everyone is welcome. Only the Herbertstraße is not entered by women, at the request of the women working there; the guide walks around it with them.

The relaxed harbor cruise in the evening is really worth it. In the evening, with all its lights, the harbor looks far more impressive and romantic.
